WordPress migration

Move your WordPress site to Astro, at a fixed price

Your pages, posts and forms moved from an aging WordPress install to a fast Astro site that your team edits in the EmDash admin, hosted on Cloudflare. Fixed scope, fixed price, every old URL kept.

Ask about your site

Why move

Speed on phones

Pages are served from Cloudflare's network without a page builder's scripts and styles, so they load fast on a phone.

Less to maintain

No plugin updates, no PHP version upgrades, no database to patch. The site is a small codebase and a content database.

Easy to edit

Your team edits pages, posts, menus and forms in the EmDash admin. The layout follows the content, so nothing breaks when text changes.

What every migration includes

Your content, cleaned

Pages and posts are read from the rendered site, not the page builder's data, and rewritten as clean, structured content. Shortcode residue and empty spacer blocks are left behind.

Every URL kept

Each page and post stays at its old address, and anything that moves gets a permanent redirect. Titles, descriptions and canonical tags carry over.

Forms that work

Contact and inquiry forms rebuilt with spam protection, stored submissions and email notification, and connected to your CRM when you ask.

Accessibility checked

Headings in order, alt text for images that lack it, and color contrast checked against WCAG 2.2 AA in light and dark mode.

What we check at launch

  • Every URL in your old sitemap answers on the new site, with the page or a permanent redirect
  • A mobile Lighthouse report for the home page and your most-visited pages
  • Every form sends, stores and notifies, tested end to end
  • A full export of your content is yours on request, so there is no lock-in

Who should stay on WordPress

If WordPress runs a business process rather than showing pages, a migration costs more than it saves. We will say so on the first call.

  • Online stores on WooCommerce
  • Membership, course and community sites
  • Sites built around plugin workflows: bookings with payment, listing feeds, ticketing
  • Teams who edit in a visual page builder every day and want to keep doing that

For agencies

If you look after a group of WordPress client sites, we can migrate them under your name, at a per-site price agreed up front. You keep the client relationship.

Questions

What is EmDash?

EmDash is a content management system built for Astro. Your team signs in to an admin, edits pages, posts, menus, media and forms, and publishes. There are no plugins to update.

Do we lose our search rankings?

Every old URL keeps working, either at the same address or through a permanent redirect, and titles, descriptions and canonical tags carry over. We check the full old sitemap at launch.

Who owns the site?

You do. The content, the domain and the code are yours, and the site can run in your own Cloudflare account. Care plans cover hosting and edits; you can leave them at any time.

What do you need from us?

Access to the WordPress site or a content export, a contact for questions, and one round of comments on the preview before launch.

Can you also fix our CRM and lead handling?

Yes. That is marketing operations and GTM engineering work, scoped separately. The diagnostic covers both.
